I Don't Know

Has it ever happen to you that people who were academically backwards then you are doing much better than you are. People whom you thought never deserved to be promoted actually got promoted, while you are waiting to be promoted. People who get into the limelight by doing something little, while you have been slogging hard to get rewarded.

Comparisons are never a good thing and there is no way one can compare individuals coming from different backgrounds and environment. Still, one cannot resist them when we see people who move a long way ahead and you find yourself still struggling to make a place for yourself.

I often found myself stump when I tried to understand how they happen. Was luck a big factor for their success or they did something that you did not. If you have any answers do let me know...

yes this happens. from prev experience, its because you have missed out on doing something that was important. you may be slogging but someone else does a small change in an event that caused bigger impact. this could be in work or otherwise. of course tons of factors are there but this is one huge learning i had. hope things get better for you soon :)

It happens to me. But then I feel bad of feeling so superior to them.. may be they r smarter than me.. and hence go ahead no ?

Yes I have seen this happen too. One reason is that there are some things our schools don't train us for, like PR for instance. Some people who are not good (or any better than others) at their job succeed because they know how to market themselves or sell themselves better.

We dont get what we deserve.. we get what we negotiate

@ Nags

I guess sometimes it just not suppose to happen, does not matter even if one ends up doing the right things...

@ Rashmi

I sure will :))

@ Winnie

I am at the end of my wits to understand what you said... :)

@ IHM

I would say other factors also add up to this...

Welcome to LIFE

You put that very well in words, but that is not the situation every time.

First of all thanks for visiting me and putting your thoughts nicely, I really appreciate.
Now comes on your post:

I agree comparison is no way! Everyone has their individualistic talent and it must get its own credit. I think in India I have seen that a lot and not seen in this part of the world...! Now things are different...its only one can achieve success in academics only but other fields are also there and I think one should give the opportunity to the individuals to explore in that.
Good post
Cheers

Welcome to LIFE

Thanks, I do hope the time comes when hard work is one of the main criteria for success.

Been there, thought that !! And well, I guess it's all If you try to make sense of it, it's all about destiny and the right time for you ...

Some day, you find there was a reason you didn't get the coveted job, project, reward or love, atleast in my experience .

@ Adisha

Quite True!!!

I agree it was like it was not meant for you and that there was something else waiting for you...
