Revenge: The Solution?

I was watching the news, when I came across this (see below) and surely the media channels are falling to a new lows in an attempt to report news.

I am not sure if anybody talked to the boy about what he is saying and shows complete lack of apathy from the channel side which goes on to flash news about the boy's vow for revenge.

One can understand the plight of the child who lost his father but trying to cashing on it by covering his admission of revenge is something I think could have been avoided given the situation and the emotions involved. What does a seven year old know about revenge?

It's time that we have media watchdogs, so that such incidents are reported and taken off the air instead of showcasing the lack of sensitivity!!

There's no such thing as ethics in journalism any more I think. Plus this looks like a Bollywood movie to be honest...you know, where the child says he will grow up and avenge his father's death or mother's abuse...Shameful...

It certainly seems so. I never looked at it from that point, but makes the case.

Yup it is!

Totally agree with you. Though it is saddening to see the child's face, the things he says shouldn't be supported. Well whatever it is, at least they shouldn't have shown that on tv.

This is utter crap :( media.. well what can we say.. we like to bash them.. but then they are also a business! So i wonder.. if this is what general public like.. then well..

You know this is like the point that Ayn Rand tried to make.. in Fountainhead... you know.. about the character Gail .. have you read it?

@ Kartik

Thanks Mate.

@ Winnie.

They are in a business where moral ethics needs to have more relevance than any other forms of business.

Yes, I did and you will find many Gail's in the word who would manipulate for their convenience.

I saw the child and had the same thought.
Shocking and sad.
I also wondered if it was right to show the child on national Television at all.

@ Sorcerer

I don't agree, its about choices and everyone seems to be taking the easy way out.

@ IHM

Time to set up media watchdogs to take care of such issues
